{Family Lifestyle} Angela + Elijah

Last week I did a collaboration with Angela of Our Sunshine Journey blog (please go read her story… just have some tissues close by, its got all the feels!) and spent the morning with her and her amazingly gorgeous son, Elijah; what a sweetheart!

{Wedding} Wendy + Ivor

I honestly cannot decide which is my favourite memory from this wedding, there are just so many… an incredible (beautiful) bride, gorgeous dresses (both bride and bridesmaids – Hoiden bridesmaids is by far my favourite SA brand!), that breath-stopping moment when the zip got stuck (and several terrified looks were exchanged behind Wendy’s back), bright florals (Monique Ritson is so talented), amazing venue (I love shooting at Winery Road), fun guests who knew how to party the night away to a great DJ… it was just such a wonderful wedding!  Thank you Ivor and Wendy for allowing me to capture your love story; it may have started 10 years ago, but I pray this is just the beginning of God’s ‘next level’ for both of you.

{e-shoot} Wendy + Ivor

Its shoots like this that remind me how incredible it is to live in Cape Town… what a beautiful city?! I’ve wanted to do a shoot in Bokaap for ages and was so happy when Wendy suggested it – don’t you just love all the colours? And can Table Mountain ever be beaten for a backdrop?

Soooooo excited for Wendy & Ivor’s Big Day tomorrow <3 Its going to be gorgeous…

{Couple Shoot} Steve & Be

A few weeks back, I was inspired to take on a personal project – The Love Project… celebrating the Real Love Stories that have been tested and found solid and still going strong.  These are the Love Stories that I look at and hope to one day have too; these are my “Relationship Goals”…

So Couple 1 is Steve & Belinda – I have lost count of how any times I have photographed them (either preggy shoots or with their 3 boys), and love them like family.  As a couple they not only live and love eachother in a way that glorifies God and really testifies of a Christian marriage, but they have fun while doing it… and that’s one of the qualities I love most about them: they laugh together.

Married for 12 years, they are partners in life; talking and praying through every tough situation that may present itself – and no matter how busy life gets (and it really does with 3 gorgeous boys running about) they still prioritise eachother.  The success of their family is due to the strength of their marriage and they know regular Date Nights are important.

Be’s advice for a great marriage: “Apart from the obvious like keeping your heart humble in constantly being changed by the Lord as you lay your life (including your selfish wants and desires) down for your spouse, have fun with each other.”

{Preggie Shoot} Sunrise on Signal Hill

When Bianke told me she and Stefan were considering starting a family (back in the days when we used to run and then drink red wine…) I shotgunned being able to do their preggie shoot. Obviously.  I mean, it would have been rude if they had asked anyone else. And several months (of less running and no wine) later, here it is… and we made it extra special by waking up at 6am on a Sunday to catch the sunrise.  I clearly love these people lots. But it was soooooooo worth it… oh, and they hate being in front of a camera.  Yeah, it doesn’t show. At all. <3

{Wedding} Candy & Jono

[WARNING: Contains overload of Gorgeousness] I just can’t help myself; I have gone waaaaaay overboard with the images in this blog… but if I could only show you all the other beautiful photos from this wedding too… the kind of problem every photographer dreams of! Candy has set the bar high for other brides and really did get her dream wedding: a boho-forest fest at the stunning Winery Road Forest venue.

From a photographer’s perspective, what made this wedding such a pleasure to photograph was not only the beautiful scenery, gorgeous bride (and bridal party), attention to detail in terms of decor and flowers – but best of all: Candy allocated enough time for photographs at the best time of day, even working that Golden Light Hour into her programme to get those “glowy” portraits.  Thank you Candy!!

Thank you to the other vendors for their hard work in contributing to the day’s success…

{Wedding} Inge & Niel

I promised myself I would set boundaries when it came to how many hours I spend editing photos… yeah… one look at this wedding’s results and I couldn’t help myself!  Despite the torrential downpour that prevented their outdoor ceremony, this was a breathtakingly beautiful wedding from start to finish – and possibly the calmest bride I have ever met too.  Inge, you were stunning and Niel has found himself a gem of a wife; I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.  Thank you for trusting me with your memories xx

{Engagement} Laetitia & Riaan

Its not often that I get to witness a couple’s engagement – before meeting them!  I was exhibiting at the FAB Bridal Expo and before one of the fashion shows, Riaan popped the question on stage.  Needless to say Laetitia said yes… and here is their engagement shoot, at the lovely De Grendel Wine Farm in Plattekloof, Cape Town.  Am so in love with those golden hues…

{Engagement} Inge & Niel

I got to know Inge while she was still living in Cape Town; soon after she moved back to the Lowveld, she was introduced to Niel – and let’s just say the rest is history… We did the e-shoot at my parent’s holiday home in the Sabi Parks game park (my absolute Happy Place).  Definitely one of my favourites to date.  Cannot wait for their wedding in January!
