{Portraiture} Savannah (featuring Monique)

I don’t usually do matric dance shoots, but this one was a special exception: Savannah and Monique are in my class.  And I have taught them since grade 8… it’s one of the things I find truly remarkable about being a teacher: sharing life with these young people.  Its an honour being allowed to walk a small part of their lives; getting to witness first hand how they respond to Life, seeing them rise to the challenges, overcome the disappointments and flourish… with many giggles along the way.  I am going to miss these faces, but wish them all the very best for what lies ahead…

Venue: Durbanville Hills

{Couple Lifestyle} Stephanie & Anton

One of my favourite aspects of doing couple’s shoots is getting to meet the couples and capturing something of their relationship… to date, the loveliest couples are those that laugh together.  I love seeing men just know how to bring out that smile and then the giggles from their wife/ fiancee/ girlfriend… that’s what makes them them and its so special.  Anton and Steph are those kind of people: Anton just knows what makes his wife break into laughter and enjoy the moment.  Its beautiful.

Thank you Stef & Anton for allowing me to drag you about Majik Forest (down and back up those hills…) for an hour.  You guys are awesome.

{Engagement} Laetitia & Riaan

Its not often that I get to witness a couple’s engagement – before meeting them!  I was exhibiting at the FAB Bridal Expo and before one of the fashion shows, Riaan popped the question on stage.  Needless to say Laetitia said yes… and here is their engagement shoot, at the lovely De Grendel Wine Farm in Plattekloof, Cape Town.  Am so in love with those golden hues…

Wedding {Felix & Courtney}

Planning a wedding from across the world is always a tricky feat… and yet somehow Felix and Courtney made it seem effortless… having half the guests fly over from Germany and the other half proudly local, the Cape wine route showed off its beauty to the max.  Durbanville Hills is definitely a stunning venue for a wedding; you cannot beat those views.
