{Wedding} Wendy + Ivor

I honestly cannot decide which is my favourite memory from this wedding, there are just so many… an incredible (beautiful) bride, gorgeous dresses (both bride and bridesmaids – Hoiden bridesmaids is by far my favourite SA brand!), that breath-stopping moment when the zip got stuck (and several terrified looks were exchanged behind Wendy’s back), bright florals (Monique Ritson is so talented), amazing venue (I love shooting at Winery Road), fun guests who knew how to party the night away to a great DJ… it was just such a wonderful wedding!  Thank you Ivor and Wendy for allowing me to capture your love story; it may have started 10 years ago, but I pray this is just the beginning of God’s ‘next level’ for both of you.

{e-shoot} Wendy + Ivor

Its shoots like this that remind me how incredible it is to live in Cape Town… what a beautiful city?! I’ve wanted to do a shoot in Bokaap for ages and was so happy when Wendy suggested it – don’t you just love all the colours? And can Table Mountain ever be beaten for a backdrop?

Soooooo excited for Wendy & Ivor’s Big Day tomorrow <3 Its going to be gorgeous…

{Wedding} Francois & Nikki

Every so often a wedding comes your way which is so different from the norm that its refreshing.  Nikki and Francois’ wedding is one of those weddings – so relaxed and with such a simple focus of Love in Community.  Still beautiful, and lacking nothing, this couple proved you don’t have to fall victim to the money game to be a beautiful day… family and friends set up the venue (at their church hall), moms and aunties cooked delicious soup for dinner, friends brought platters to share… it reminded me of what weddings should be: the Community coming together to bless the couple.  I loved it! Congratulations FraNikki; may God continue to pour out His best-est upon you both…

Francois asks Carrie to be his Forever {Proposal}

Apparently I could survive the Hunger Games (if all I had to do was hide away in the trees and not be spotted by all those vicious teenagers with weapons) but the point is: my camo abilities are epic. Which is a good thing since I hid in the willows at Mont Rochelle this Sunday and witnessed one of my besties get engaged. What an incredible honour getting to witness Francois ask Carrie to be his Forever – and then gatecrash their picnic ( I mean share in their celebrations!?)

Thank you Francois for allowing me to share in your most special day… you did good… especially with that ring. Black diamond for the win! Wishing you both all the happiness that Forever can hold (and then some more because if you squeeze real hard you can squish some extra good stuff in…) Love you both lots xx

{Wedding} Candy & Jono

[WARNING: Contains overload of Gorgeousness] I just can’t help myself; I have gone waaaaaay overboard with the images in this blog… but if I could only show you all the other beautiful photos from this wedding too… the kind of problem every photographer dreams of! Candy has set the bar high for other brides and really did get her dream wedding: a boho-forest fest at the stunning Winery Road Forest venue.

From a photographer’s perspective, what made this wedding such a pleasure to photograph was not only the beautiful scenery, gorgeous bride (and bridal party), attention to detail in terms of decor and flowers – but best of all: Candy allocated enough time for photographs at the best time of day, even working that Golden Light Hour into her programme to get those “glowy” portraits.  Thank you Candy!!

Thank you to the other vendors for their hard work in contributing to the day’s success…

{Wedding} Inge & Niel

I promised myself I would set boundaries when it came to how many hours I spend editing photos… yeah… one look at this wedding’s results and I couldn’t help myself!  Despite the torrential downpour that prevented their outdoor ceremony, this was a breathtakingly beautiful wedding from start to finish – and possibly the calmest bride I have ever met too.  Inge, you were stunning and Niel has found himself a gem of a wife; I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.  Thank you for trusting me with your memories xx

{Engagement} Dederika & LJ

This is definitely an e-shoot which I will never forget; I had so much fun! I’ve heard photographers speak about their “ideal couple” and I think I finally understand what they mean – Dederika and LJ were amazing and absolutely game for anything.  I love couples who are not only love eachother, but who laugh and have fun together; that’s what makes for a great shoot…

{e-shoot} – Clerissa & Byron

I love this shoot for so many reasons: a gorgeous couple, beautiful venue, perfect weather,  Byron’s many expressive faces… If you haven’t heard about De Ouwe Klok function venue, do yourself a favour and check it out – its absolutely lovely and perfect for an intimate, rustic farm style wedding.  Clerissa and Byron have definitely found themselves a gem…

{Wedding: assist} 12 Apostles

I am incredibly fortunate to have Christelle Rall (uber-talented and internationally acclaimed photographer) as a mentor and when I get the chance, I love to assist her.  This stunning wedding was held at the 12 Apostles in Cape Town.  Wow, talk about classic beauty! This was most definitely a good day… so much prettiness makes my heart sing.

{Wedding} – Lauren & Clint

One word: Breath-taking… the attention to detail in this wedding was incredible.  Well done Lauren!
